Description This is a gorgeous wild flower I found near a stream, and a large rapeseed field. I recently seen something on the television saying these are nicknamed 'jackpot' flowers, but I'm not entirely sure of its full name. If anyone call let me know for certain, I'd be grateful, and it'd be helpful.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to view, comment, and add to their !

Surely it is in the Daisy family somewhere... nice job on the lighting, the simplicity of this photo is its strength

I'm not too hot on the central composition as the flower isnt "looking" at the camera, it is looking top right, meaning it would fit naturally into the bottom left in classical composition rules...

I Would guess it's a daisy. It looks great anyway.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but it's not a daisy I don't think.
Thanks mate, appreciate the comment.

Very vibrant yellow, it stands out nicely against the black, I like how you can see the stem of it fade too. I would personally get rid of the bit of the other flower at the bottom, but that's up to you of course

Really nice Phil, well done

Thanks very much Alannah, and I agree with everything you said. I just wanted one other person to mention the other flower, before I took it out.
Shall do that, and update it now.

buttercup?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FlippinPhil In reply to Meowgli [2009-05-23 12:46:42 +0000 UTC]

Nah, not a buttercup, too large, and too many petals to be a buttercup. I think dave was correct in saying it was a Daisy.
