I can't stop staring at this! The details of the city is amazing and the angel's form is very curious. Anyways, who do you think is the first angel and what inspired the title?

The Book of Enoch tells how a group of rebellious angels ( Watchers) left heaven and came down to Earth to marry human women and have children with them "the Nephilim" ( said to be the offspring of the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men.) but the word could also mean the fallen ones as well as giants. The Second Book of Enoch, mentions a Watcher called Satanael. An evil spirit who knew the difference between what was "righteous" and "sinful", who was cast out of heaven. This is similar in sound to Michael, Raphael, Uriel and Gabriel. While the Hebrew Bible [the] satan is simply a name for any accuser who role is to test the faithful.

The Book of Revelation also mentions a War in Heaven "Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they were defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world and although Satan is identification with Lucifer the Morning star this in an invention of later writers Satan was first simply "the accuser then an angel, the original fallen one.

So the mythology is convoluted contradictory in all things, Metatron, Satan or Michael were not the first. I imagined the first angels would be more complex hovering between the possibility of supplication or rebellion. More satanic more archaic less angelic than the winged and shallow creatures of light with their wedding gown attire and dove white wings and the wings take a leaf from Leonardo drawings of flight. My angel is gods first - hanging somewhere between Eve and Satan, two of gods creations.

You, my friend, are obviously inspire by Leonardo da Vinci. That's a great start! But you gotta find your self some time.

Love the mangled kind of look to this piece. Also, nice choice for the skin colour. It makes the character pop out as kind of a black sheep.

The truth is that it looks unfinished...
What's the city in the background?

I can see why this one would be at that stage....I would have been there way before with as much detail as it does have...sheesh. Although I cannot wait to see this finished :-D
