Oh, okay, so now I think I see how you do your blooms. Kind of like this, but in 3D, right? [link] One of the variations is negative, I think it was a julia.

Flockling In reply to CMWVisualArts [2012-08-11 06:09:24 +0000 UTC]

Just looked. No regular Julia. You are correct about there being negative numbers in the Variations tab.

In addition, until I clicked your link there, I don't think I have ever seen anything that looks like that on my Apo screen. Though.. it definitely looks interesting to me as a concept I've not found before. I think you should revisit that idea and see if you can incorporate it into a future Deviation! I'm certain it would turn out splendidly.

Also, do you mean how I make the petals look more.. how to say.. 'rigid?' or 'sharp'?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CMWVisualArts In reply to Flockling [2012-08-11 06:24:03 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it looks like instead of standard petals, they are reversed - instead of going out, they come in.

I really like the effect. It doesn't take much of (mystery setting ) to over-do it, though! Which can make it tough to work with depending on the severity of other settings such as wedge, waves2, etc.. and their variables.

No worries. If you ever just want the parameters of one to look around a bit, just toss me a Note and I'll send you them.

I see you just posted this. Hang on one moment, and I will go open the file to see if you are correct. If you are not, do you want me to just tell you the answers, or do you want to guess them? (I only ask because some people enjoy guessing. Like figuring out a puzzle! ). [A side note before I go look: I am 99% sure that this does not have Julia of any kind in it, but, my pain medicine messes up my memory so I might be wrong. ).

CMWVisualArts In reply to Flockling [2012-08-11 06:25:34 +0000 UTC]

Guessing is better, I learn better on my own
And I'm not sure if it was any type of julia/julian variation, I'm just guessing. I haven't done a standard bloom in a long time.

Flockling In reply to CMWVisualArts [2012-08-11 06:28:44 +0000 UTC]

Okie. The negative is not Julia/Julian/Julian3D, etc.

I'm going to find the parameters for the Pit. I made that in early 2011, I believe.

Wow your right making it full-screen makes a massive difference~<3
I love how the top part looks like a flower in bloom, and the orange part beneath it kind of looks like an eye staring down... very interesting and creative.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flockling In reply to FloatingToxins [2012-08-08 04:24:18 +0000 UTC]

Yeppers. Full-view makes a massive increase in goodness on large-size images(assuming the uploader chooses to keep original size in the upload options). I think(not positive) dropping it down to say, 900 in the options, keeps the detail but loses the ability to see a large version of a deviation without downloading. Since not everyone wants to d/l, I just leave it as a clickable image.

FloatingToxins In reply to Flockling [2012-08-08 14:36:32 +0000 UTC]

oh, I see. Your right about most people not being bothered to download the image to view it haha I know from experience. Making it clickable was a good move ^w^ ~
