A shot of the sewer entrance in the subway tunnels I explored in 2002 (will be going back very soon). I found it amusing, it evoked a curiosity of "what lies beneath the undercity itself ?"Related content

Yeah, it seemed to have been part of the sewers under the subway, possibly linked to the old aqueduct or the Genesee River in some way. I'm not sure if it's connected to the city sewer system, or if it was isolated and is now holding 60 year old sewer water in there...
