Day 23: Muddy

So, this image just looks like a simple picture of Summer dancing in mud while a radio plays music......and it is. BUT, its also another excuse for me to blabber on about some mechanics of the world of Steampunk Deerling

So I've said before that the region that Steampunk Deerling will take place in is a heavily mountainous region. The main mode of transport between the towns/cities/settlements are airships. However the weather can often be unfavorable to flying when trying to locate the dock you want to land at. So to help guide airships to a town's location, and act as the region's navigational system, each town puts out a "short" range radio signal that's different for each town. Airships are equipped with radio equipment that indicate how strong nearby signals are and what direction they are coming from. This way airships can navigate into the vicinity of the town they're heading to, even in bad weather, wait for the weather to clear, then immediately begin the landing process.

The signals are also used for entertainment just like our radios. And Summer loves them. She really likes music.
