Description This has been an ongoing project for 5000 years, but it's finally done! The new and updated Mothcats trait sheet is ready for use. Many thanks to itinerare , justlikesoup , and Arquerite for helping out with this monster of a trait sheet!

The Mothcats trait sheet is now hosted on a wiki to allow for greater detailed explanations and easier updates! (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
(It is also the first step we are taking to transfer all guides and ARPG information to a wiki for easy access/better organization. Exciting!!)

>> Click here for our new trait sheet!! <<
Please refer to this sheet when designing future MYO's/customs. Like last time, there will be a grace period where you can use either trait sheets for MYO's (important for people who want to use the glitter/iridescence/metallic/glowing traits which have been re-categorized as "applied traits" and can't be made with MYO's).

The end of this grace period will be August 31st 2017. After then, old traits will not be accepted for MYO's!

So I have been working on my mothcat MYO from a slot I got back in december. Is there anyway I could get someone to look at it and tell me if it fits the requirements? I do not have essance of glow and do not intend to make a glowing cat however the color scheme of my bab gives him a bit of a neon glow effect, or at least I'm worried it does. Can I get someone to look at him and tell me if it's within the rules or not?
thank you for your time and sorry to bother y'all

You can send it as a note to the group in a stash file to double-check. ^^

So... I am eager to make a mothcat... can I basically just make one as long as I use common traits?

Thank you for your interest in the group! Mothcats are a closed species, meaning that in order to create one, you have to have first purchased a MYO slot or obtained one through group activities (including Mothcats with all common traits). We currently have MYO slots open for purchase here: Mothcat MYO Slots! [OPEN]

as well as the opportunity to win a Mothcat through our Draw-to-Adopt/Write-to-Adopt Birthday Contest:

If you're interested in ways to get characters you can use in the group, all Mothcats members are allowed to create one Florabun subspecies for free, using these guidelines:

Thanks! ^^

so basically, as always, anything made before this point is ok right ?? ;v;
i ... naturally draw mothcat wings that are feathery/membrane really big based on how most winged animals' parts are like twice their height i think?
I might have to modify some designs from here on out to suit the correct proportions haha (i will discuss later w/ u on discord maybe bc i have a few questions LOL)

OK i found the ref i was looking for

but this is how i draw the wings....I'm wondering how much i need to shrink them for any future cats with feathers or membrane wings?

That's fine! Feather/membrane wings are a bit different. ^^

cool cool!! for some reason, it seems more appropriate that fairy wings (aka the common ones) arent that big
but for anatomy reasons I enjoy making the wings attach to the body in a more realistic manner (as realistic as a winged cat could be LOL)
thanks!! I'll be sure to check in w/ u or the admins before I post any MYO though just to be sure :3

There is a mention of a cloud mane being well.. cloud. Does it mean that just purely soft floof manes will cease to be? For example Tico has the soft puffy version, not a cloud/elemental version.

Also regarding the flower antennae, I know I asked this way before but since its now official imma ask again; can I have smol lil leaves/spikes at the base of the flower of flower antennae? I show a demonstration if it's needed.

edit: found my old example: Flowerquestion
edit2: the Rose example here: www.floramisa.com/wiki/Floral_… does have those lil leaves/spikes, sooo it's okay?

The cloud mane has always been a cloud, but I like to think that it has more of a tangible texture- super soft and squishy to touch. The appearance is what is judged when it comes to the trait, so if Tico has a texture similar to that, then you don't have to worry. The cloud mane is identified by the swirls inside of the puffy mane. :>

It's fine to include the sepal to the flowers, yes. ^^
