What a beautiful piece! The view of the ocean and the way the sun casts itself on the character is just perfectly done, great work! <3

thank you! i don't know how to teach through chat but i can try xD

1. what program do you use? i use firealpaca a free downloadable program on google
2.in your drawing program do you have these brushes?
-airbrush
-leaf1
-particle (you don't need that that much)
-watercolor
first you fill in everything with the flat colors, (for the sun its basically in the white-orange range but mostly light yellow(i prefer white)) do NOT use neon colors
-you create a layer for each step (lineart, flat colors,shading,lighting,effects,particles...)
-than you start using the watercolor and airbrush brushes. (ALWAYS use them with low opacity so you can change the lighting easier and make it more realistic)
-just make strait strokes with them so you don't make it look messy, and then you start the shading
the shading's coloration depends on what the flat colors and the sun's rays look like.
for example:. green grassy hill with a sunset in the background..you need to shade with dark green at the far side of the drawing,(using cool colors) and as you move in it gets more yellow-orange-ish (thats going to be the lighting)
and when you are done with the shading and the lighter parts, you start the edge of the hill which is most closest to the sun's rays.
first you do a thin line of bright yellow which shows a 3D effect.
when you are done with the lighting then you can move onto the particles
-for this one you can use leaf1 or the particles brush (i prefer leaf1)
and make the particles really small so they are only little specks.
make them white, then just spread them under the sunset so it creates a reflection effect
than when you are done use the airbrush (white; and you can turn the opacity up) and go over the sun so it makes it look like it glows
for the sunset background you need to focuse on that the further you are from the sun the darker it gets (so around the sun its white-yellowish, and when you move out its orange-reddish, and then it turns indigo-to the night sky blue)

phew i think i wrote down everything xD
if i missed something or if you didn't understand just tell me :3
