This is a very beautiful drawing with a lot of emotion coming through it...the girl looks sorrowful with the look on her face. I love the soft blending of shade and the softness of the feathers at the bottom of the picture is a really nice touch. There really is an alluring softness to the picture, from the emotion to the blending of shades.

Solitude never changes it's sad content if we try to transfer it by drawing with a pencil or writing a novel which contains 500 pages...
The anatomy of her face is so neat so I can believe if she is a photo model  for an Italian fashion brand. And the dress is so seductive so I can not understand why she is so alone. There were such a gorgeous film stars on Hollywood when I was a little child. Your excellent submission carried me back to my childhood.
Please keep on submitting so innocent but so seductive art works. Nice to have that two end in a balance like you do in your wonderful compositions very often. Thanks for sharing

...I think, there is a difference between SOLITUDE and LONELINESS...and what it means to each of us...there is a clear distinction between feeling lonely and being socially isolated(for example:a loner) .In particular, one way of thinking about loneliness is a discrepancy between one's necessary and achieved levels of social interactions, -while SOLITUDE is simply the lack of contact with people.LONELINESS is therefore a subjective experience  -if a person thinks, , he/she is lonely-then he/she IS lonely.
People can be lonely while in solitude -or in the middle of a crowd...
What makes a person lonely, is the fact that he/she needs more social interaction or a certain type of social interaction, that is not currently available.A person can be in the middle of a party and feel lonely due to not talking to enough people.Conversely, one can be alone and not feel lonely; even though there is no one around that person- he /she is not lonely because there is no desire ,or need for social interaction.I suppose that each person has his /her own "sweet spot" of social interaction. If a person gets too little or too much social interaction(or not the right one), this can eventually lead to feelings of loneliness.
On the other hand, SOLITUDE can have positive effects on individuals. One study found, that, although time spent alone tended to depress a person's mood and increases feelings of loneliness, it helped to improve their cognitive state, such as improving concentration.Furthermore, once the alone time was over, people's moods tended to increase significantly.SOLITUDE is also associated with other positive growth experiences-(religious experiences,, meditation, and identity, building such as solitary quests used in rites of passages...
LONELINESS can also play an important role in creative process, for some people, temporary or prolonged loneliness can lead to notable artistic and creative expression, for poets, painters, musicians. This is not to imply that loneliness itself ensures this creativity, rather, it may have an influence on the subject matter of the artist and more likely be present in individuals engaged in creative activities...
The great Greek Artist Georges Moustaki  created a beautiful song(in french lyrics)..."Non je ne suis pas seul, dans ma solitude...I am never alone with my solitude " youtu.be/IVPopSraXf4 , (You may like ths song, eventually)
"My Solitude"
 For having so often slept
with my solitude.
I almost made myself a friend,
a gentle habit.
She leaves me not a step,
faithful as a shadow,
She has been with me here and there in
the four corners of the world.
No, I am never alone,
with my solitude.
When she is in the hollow of my bed
she takes the whole place.
And we spend long nights
both face to face.
I really do not know how far
this accomplice will go,
Will I  have to get used to this taste...
Or must  I react?
No, I am never alone,
with my solitude.
Through her I learned as much as
I shed tears.
If I ever repudiate her, she doesn't disarm me
And if I prefer the love
of another courtesan,
she will be my last companion on my last day
No, I am never alone,
with my solitude..."
....................
To come back to Your comment...thank You for the nice compliment concerning my drawing, I am truly flattered that it brought You back sweet memories of Your childhood, and "Hollywood stars"...hehe
You are wondering, while she is "so alone,as she is wearing such a seductive dress"...
Well, I was talking about "Solitude", not loneliness... and than again, even if  a woman is a real "jewel" and shining...some men are not able to recognize it to the "right value", for they are "too blind", to see further...or, maybe, they think, they can't be on the "right level"to be "worth it, or to "worship" ..who can say..
You mention, that my drawing is so "innocent"but seductive"...I don't know, what You mean by "innocent",but anyhow, Innocence is positive, isn't it...?

for Your watch and feedback, Ahyan, Dearest...

Will we ever really know.....?

floriaiglenoir In reply to Arte-de-Junqueiro [2017-02-22 10:50:00 +0000 UTC]

...well,if  the door is half open, or half closed, there is always the two possibilities of the other two half ones...it is, maybe not  final or definitive ...and again, the door here is in 2 parts, so...there is hope, anyway, hehe...
I furthermore think, that even, if sometimes in life, some doors are closed, there is always another, which is opening, inevitably.I mean,if we consider it in the "abstract", or symbolic way.Sometimes this or that event happens, making us "close" it,in certain or uncertain way, and than it is leading us to "open"other directions, paths, et cetera.Of course, often, life, or destiny is deciding, and some "doors might be closed , definitely"and it might be good or not,but on the other hand, other doors are waiting to be opened, and  it is up to each of  us, to take this or that decision, and make the best of it, find the good key,or  to throw the "wrong one away", or leave it there...It is up- to each of us...and last and least...it depends also, on which side we are placed , in front of a closed or open door... a closed door can bring us shelter, or exclusion, and open one can bring "openings(of mind, also)or risks of - different other "dangers"...the "Yin and the Yang"...(also represented in this drawing symbolically:the lock of the door, and on the shoulder of the woman's dress...as in almost all my Artworks),and if You noticed, the floor is intentionally drawn like a "chess game"...life is ...like a chess...one has to be smart,to think,  or find best strategy to win...
Thank You anyway, for Your kind comment, dear Mel...
