Various sigils and their color codes for the different historic tribes and clans. Some of the sigils are canon, others aren't satisfactory yet.

The design of the historic sigils goes back to the big clan gathering in 1565 at which several territorial issues were disputed. Although an agreement in that matter could never be reached, the chiefs consented to the introduction of a universal crest system that would assign a sigil to each clan. The initial idea to such a system was developed by the Tyram Deer Clan who later would propose a universal writing system as well. The intention of the Deer Clan was to stimulate and ease cultural exchange, however the Wolf Tribe eagerly accepted the sigil system because it would aid them at cementing uniformity amongst the various Wolf Clans and hence to strengthen their territorial dominance over the other Tribes. With the Wolf Tribe adopting the system all other tribes followed suit eventually, even tribes who formerly had no interest in symbolism (like the Sheep Clans who would later value their sigils, because they provided them with an abstract identity that was missing for most of the clans' existence).
