the shadow underneat the statue is great. that displays a nice range of tones, and that's great.
the composition is centre based. do you know the rule of thirds? if you composed to the right and a bit up then the gargoyle would be at the interesction of the 3rds lines, and the architectural lines leading from it would go along the lines (which are supposed to be there for motion).
