Beargourse didn't think Starclan existed after all his siblings died by their father (Quailfeather) and watching his mother (Brightfeather/star) go through emotional stress after finding out. He decided that if Starclan was able to anything that they would have helped Bearpaw at the time help his mother. Beargourse believed in Starclan after his medicine cat ceremony and seeing his dead sister (Frecklekit) in Starclan.
