How much of the softness of the image is in the lighting at the time of the picture being taken, how much is done afterwards in photoshop. What kind of lighting do you use. what kind of camera. I would really like to take my amateur work to the next level but have not traiing and no technical expertise.

It would really be beneficial if you took a browse through my gallery. I know the work is not at all exceptional, the first 10,000 will be the worst right? but I'm in a bit of a rut and do not know where to go from here. Since I respect your work your opinion would be meaningful to me.
