Description
One of the recent specimens from the paleontology collections room where I work. There are so many neat things that every now and then, I go in with my camera and take photos.This one is the primary reason why I brought out my camera. My head boss had showed this to me and I couldn't wait to catch a picture. It is a recent hammerhead shark skull. Width across the hammer is about 7.5in. I didn't take it out of the box as it is rather fragile (the skin/tissue is flaky) and I didn't want to damage it.

For the most part yes, but the "hammer" is more calcified than most of the bones. Also, this is a dried recent specimen, so there is a bit of dried cartelage and flesh bits on it as well.
