rose is very shy as she was both teased for being weird or evil like discord (was) and was always crowded for being interestingly different.

no one knows where she came from, gallus and sandbar had wanted a child for a very long time and after having a huge discussion, sand agreed too turn into a mare to carry their child, just as they had discovered it was possible for a foal with the use of chaos magic. they traveled to canterlot to find discord. they took discord back to their house to ask for a foal, discords eyes widened in shock as if he was going to deny, instead he closed his eyes and clicked his talons. sandbar was preparing himself for the transformation, closing his eyes and waiting nervously to see what he'd look like, after a few moments, he opened his eyes in confusion, they widened in shock to see a small grey mish mash of animals with a pink mane. they all stood in silence for a few heartbeats before discord levitated the bundle into sandbars hooves, he couldnt speak, he was in utter shock. gallus stood up in rage, "discord this isnt what we meant!!"
discord had a small smile creep across his face, "oh, my bad, i thought you said you wanted a foal, and i gave you one, why, did i do something wrong?"
gallus stood inches away from discords face "yes you did something wrong!! we wanted our OWN foal, not some random creature you just randomly transported here! you need to send it back! what if theyre parents are searching for it!"
"oh my sincerest apologies, griffon, but unfortunately i cannot just 'send it back' SHE doesnt have any parents, shes an orphan and i would hate to see two perfectly capable allow a little scrap to starve by herself in the wild all alone..."
"discord dont do this to me! if you knew she was an orphan, couldnt you just keep it?"
"oh nono celestia and i have our own draconequus cubs to care for, we dont have any more room"
gallus opened his mouth to protest again, but was interupted by sandbar "no... i want to keep her"
"what!?, you said you wanted our own foal, not this... thing!"
"i know what i said, but it wouldnt hurt to keep this frail little cub"
gallus stared at his horse husband and exhaled, defeated, he turned to discord "fine, we'll keep her, but next time, you are following OUR instructions and we will have our OWN foal."
he proceeded to shove discord out the door, uttering a "thank you" before the draconequus disappeared in a puff of smoke.
"next time...?" sandbar whispered to himself, blushing slightly

so there we go, it took a few days for gallus to get used to this, creature, rather than his own child, but after a few weeks, she was his pride and joy, he loves his daughter a lot. sandbar obviously loves his daughter a lot too, rose is very lucky to have two daddies to smother her with kisses and cuddles ^^
