Comission from , of one of the characters from her book, a dragon shapeshifter, and a swan shapeshifter.This is my first attempt at watercolour painting without inking it first, and overall I'm quite pleased at how it came out.

Thank you SO MUCH! This is beautiful. I love the longing expression in his eyes. It's absolutely perfect. I really like your version of him, and it will help me when I describe him in book five, and will also help me better imagine him in my mind.
I'm trying to figure out what I want to do about his eyes. When he's human, his eyes are the same color green as his scales. But when he's a dragon, I don't want his eyes to be the same color as his scales - too much green. My husband, who likes dragons a lot, says that in art many dragons' eyes are gold, but the swan woman's eyes are gold, so I don't want them to be the same color. So I was thinking maybe brown, but then I saw that you gave him blue eyes and I really liked it. So now I'm thinking that maybe because he has two different types of dragon blood, that perhaps his eyes can shift color, either with mood or just randomly. What do you think?

On the subject of his eyes, I like the idea of them changing colour, but I think that it might be better if you link the change of colour more closely to him or the situation he's in. I also think that since he has the blood of two dragons you should make it apparent somehow.

Yes, I do want his two types of dragon blood apparent. But since this is Book Five I'm still sketchy on details. I'm not even sure what the two kinds of dragons ARE yet. I have the basic plot outlines for the whole series, but if I tried to figure out specific this far in advance it wouldn't really work. The characters would just change them later, once they take over writing for me (which they inevitably do - hence how one book became seven).
Okay so no random color changes. That will probably be easier and better to write anyway. Thank you!
