Description I'm convinced that Galbatorix's favorite board game is Pretty Pretty Princess.

Okay, so this little crap doodle is my impression on a scene from Christopher Paolini's "Inheritance", so SPOILERS GUIZE.

Why the hell was Murtagh wearing that mask? I can find no reasonable explanation for it other than that's just what Paolini saw when he was like, fifteen, back when Eragon was just getting written, and it stuck all these years. I figured if Murtagh was all gussied up it would be Galbatorix's doing, and he's not one to be outdone... And yes, that is a feather boa.

Nasuada would like to put in a request for new torturers please: these ones are a little too foppish to be taken seriously.
Obviously I do not own the Inheritance Cycle.

Since I can see you're such a great Inheritance Cycle fan, please consider checking out a story I'm co-writing with my best friend that follows the storyline post Inheritance and follows the relationships of Nasuada and Murtagh as well as Eragon and Arya in later chapters. I've wondered about this, too. Paolini claims to have changed and edited and cut so much but he left this? this thing that makes no sense? maybe its weird symbolism...for....something?

Maybe he likes the Phantom of the Opera...? Haha, I dunno. It sat weird with me too, but there are a lot of frayed and/or mismatched ends in Inheritance, so I guess it shouldn't even phase me much. I thought maybe it was symbolism for Murtagh wearing a mask to hide either who he really is or his shame or something, whether from Galbatorix or from Nasuada I'm not sure, but it seems kind of pointless if he were just wearing it to dusguise himself, since he and Nasuada already knew each other...

Ramble ramble ramble. Haha, I really have no clue.
