Description I seriously hope I uploaded these right. If not, let me know. :]

LOL I was sick today and had the house to myself. I started working on the comic page a little more and needed some foliage, and rather than using downloaded brushes, I thought I'd make my own. They're not anything brilliant or amazing, I just thought they turned out alright for my first time making 'em. Was actually kinda fun. These are just a few of the ones I made.

Oh, and 1 and 2 are NOT foliage brushes. They're slightly edited default brushes, but I made them specifically for sketching. When I sketch, those two are the only ones I use. If you're new to Photoshop and don't know how to make your own brushes yet, then I thought I'd share these. Everything else however, is all 100% created by me and only me.

They're free to use for whatever the hell you want. But if you do use them, I'd appreciate a link (which I'll post on the Artist's comment) So people can see them actually used.

One last thing, a tablet is required for them to look as they do above. I'm sorry to non-tablet users. I'll make a few brushes for you guys later on. You can still use these, they just may not look the same.

Really cool brushes! Only down side to some of them for me is that some of the brushes are way to saturated and I have no idea how to lower that... help? XD

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 2

Flurious In reply to SecretsOfSorrow [2012-04-10 19:53:34 +0000 UTC]

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you

But yes, there is a way to lower brush saturation. Provided you use photoshop (I use CS3, personally), you should be able to go to the brush settings tab on the right side and (I'm not on my laptop that has PS so bear with me here), there should be a section that deals with saturation and you should be able to slide it back to zero. Let me know if you're still having problems and I'll get back to you when I'm on my laptop and can explain it better.

Thanks for using my brushes! I appreciate it!

ulos12 In reply to SecretsOfSorrow [2012-01-31 06:00:18 +0000 UTC]

There is an interplay between your foreground color and background color. If you're foreground color is a really dark green and the background color is white that white tint the same hue as the foreground (in this case green) but mirror the white's level of saturation. Then those too colors mix randomly as you paint with the brush.
It's hard to explain.
Just try this: set you're foreground color to #0D3102 and you're background color to #33412E and paint
Then try #0D3102 foreground and #FFFFFF and compare.
To lower saturation play with both the Fore AND background colors until you achieve the result you want.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Flurious In reply to PharlaTheDragonness [2010-10-17 16:31:36 +0000 UTC]

You can download them. :] Just hit "download" However, these are only for Photoshop. If you plan to use them anywhere else or in GIMP, you will probably need to convert the file format. (I believe someone's already put a link to one in the comments) And then, once you have them in the format you need them, add them to your brush presets.
