Description Blood warning. Should I put a mature tag on this? Please let me know.

Gratuitous alliteration.

Sorry, DoInk friends--same old, lame old! Did this for a Halloween contest. Won 'Best Transformation'. Clearly there weren't many 'transformations.' xD

Happy Hallowe'en!! What/who are you going as?

...

The counter resets...

I'm glad you did that.

Ilionej In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-29 17:48:26 +0000 UTC]

It somehow looked as if Link was pleased to do that. In the last wee bits of a second he's like "Oh! Hi!" in my eyes and then - swoosh - he kills his oponent. Somehow ironic. Or it's just me.

OHMYGOSH YES. THAT GUY IS CRAZY.
I haven't beaten the game yet, but SERIOUSLY.

I thought he was funny at first. xD As Fi says, he has gentlemanly qualities. But then he just started scaring the snot out of me.

Ilionej In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-29 19:04:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. A real gentleman tells you that he will murder you later, when he's not in the mood for such stuff right now. XD Any other villain would have killed right away instead of testing their victim.

Saw this on DoInk, it's so smooth and neatly done, it's been forever since I've actually tried animating something that's worth sharing. I love the blood splatter at the end.

I went as... myself. With a new hat.

I intend to go through the Halloween stuff right as soon as everything's half-off and make myself a costume worthy of a Masqurade party, though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-01 01:19:15 +0000 UTC]

Heh, what kind of hat?

Awesome. I should do that, too...I'm wondering what I should dress as next year.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-01 01:37:09 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure what it's called exactly... but it's kind of like a bowler hat... with some fabric attatched to it so that you can use to tie the hat around your head. I got it from the actual hat section, not the halloween section, and I intend to add it to my regular attire, so technically it doesn't really count as a halloween costume...

I can never decide what to dress as for halloween. Then the day comes and I still can't decide so I either don't have anything or I have something weird that I threw together from stuff I have...
I'm telling you, though... I dont want to dress as a fairy again... Last year I managed to get some wings and dressed as one. But the wings kept bumping people and catching on things... which made me feel ten times clumsier than I already am. They make a nice wings for that one doll of mine, though

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-01 02:46:19 +0000 UTC]

Hah, sounds interesting.

I did that once--my wings kept flipping over onto one side and I'd have to adjust them. Not very fun.
Still, cosplaying is one of my passions xD Every once in a while I get this urge to dress up as something, I don't know why...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-01 02:59:57 +0000 UTC]

I think it is! :3

I wonder how I'd do with feathered wings... I mean... I doubt they'd catch on stuff as easily because they don't have a wire frame...

I'd cosplay more if I had more money... or time to make clothes... or if I actually looked like anybody I'd like to cosplay...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-01 03:18:31 +0000 UTC]

Heh, I think it would be amazingly fun to do this some time: [link]
You know, if I had the time, money, and enough places to use it.

Yeah. I have the time, but all my costumes are pretty cheap, and I don't look like anyone, ever. Seriously, I have the weirdest face/skin color/body shape combination.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-01 04:17:58 +0000 UTC]

8D That is so cool!

I guess a person doesn't half to look like the person they're cosplaying... I just say that to draw attention away from the fact that I'm cheap and lazy. lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-01 16:12:39 +0000 UTC]

I know! They have a tutorial and everything, if you want the link, though I'm not sure if it's quite finished yet.

Hahaha. But it's really cool when you know someone who DOES look like a character. For instance, when The Last Airbender came out in theaters, my cousin dressed like Aang and got a buzz cut--and, I mean, he looked EXACTLY like the perfect crossover between the movie and cartoon. It was awesome.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-01 17:07:20 +0000 UTC]

Sweet! I'm not sure I'd make a pair for myself, but it'd be neat to have the option in case I had the time to.

Yeah! Oh, that's cool!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-01 17:20:03 +0000 UTC]

Do you want the link, then, or did you find it?

It was. On the way out of the theater someone yelled "Hey! It's the Avatar!" so I shrieked "They KNOW!" and shepherded him away. xD Cosplaying is fun in itself, but it's WAY better when someone recognizes you.
I went as San from Princess Mononoke this year and nobody knew who I was :/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-01 17:27:38 +0000 UTC]

I found it. Thanks :3

HAHAHAHA XD
Do you mean they didn't recognize YOU or they didn't recognize the character you were dressed as?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-01 17:59:55 +0000 UTC]

All right xD

x)
Both. No one in my neighborhood is a Miyazaki fan, apparently. And there were only a few people I ran into who knew me and it took them all a minute. I think they only recognized me because my dad was there.

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-01 19:08:11 +0000 UTC]

I haven't seen Princess Mononoke yet... Someone told me it was really really gory so I never grabbed it off the library shelf to watch. But then someone else told me it wasn't so bad and I was like WHAT THE HECK?? so I intend to get it and see what's what.
Apparently people mistake what I prefer with what I can handle...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-01 20:53:29 +0000 UTC]

Uhm, no. It's QUITE gory. Without spoiling too much: the first scene has a creature rotting away to a skeleton in the space of a few seconds. Afterwards, arrows remove the arms of one guy and the head off another. It's not actually *bloody*, but it is onscreen and pretty gross. Actually, unwilling amputation like that is a plot point, several times.
A couple characters receive bullet wounds and one of them pretty much bleeds out over the course of several scenes (though he's fine later, due to the magic nature of the plot).
Another character receives countless wounds and coughs probably gallons of blood from its mouth.
There's other stuff, but I don't think is really violent...it's just gross. xD

Don't get me wrong, it's an AMAZING movie, with wonderful character development--and most of the violence I've described happens pretty quickly--but you need to know what you're in for. I'm certainly glad I got a warning before I watched it.

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-02 03:21:24 +0000 UTC]

Meh... seems pretty tame compaired to some of the things my brother's called me to watch clips of. Talk about gory...

Thank you for letting me know. I'll watch it and if it gets too gross for me I guess I'll just have to quit watching. I kinda doubt it will, though.

Oh! Okay. Heh, he watch FMA?
You might be all right with it, then, I guess.

Mmhmm. I hope you like it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-02 05:32:45 +0000 UTC]

The "second go" at it. What was the second attempt called? "FMA Brotherhood"? The first "go" was horrible... I don't think my brother even liked that one...

Me, too! Thanks.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-02 15:04:07 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't know. FMA's one of the only things in existence to actually give me nightmares. Twice. From just watching like five minute of the first episode. Wolf's Rain didn't even give me nightmares...(and, never look that up, by the way. xD)
Anyway, I try to stay away from it, now. I'd just read the manga to know the story, but I've heard that mangas are usually worse than animes, so...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-02 16:45:07 +0000 UTC]

Seeing something gruesomely malformed creeps me out a lot more than seeing it torn apart... Not that seeing something alive torn apart doesn't bother me at all...

Apparently the... I want to say "second series" but that just makes it sound like an extention of the first one, which it isn't... they completely started over... is more like the manga, which apparently isn't as bad as the first attempt to make FMA into an anime

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-02 17:28:44 +0000 UTC]

Like how?
I guess it depends for me.

Ohhh, that's interesting. No wonder people always seem defensive when it's mentioned xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HollyRoseBriar In reply to Flurrin [2011-11-03 00:01:47 +0000 UTC]

... it depends for me, too... It's kind of hard to discribe gruesomely malformed, because there can be a lot of different forms of it. Let's just say there was a lot of gruesomely malformed... individuals and things... in the first FMA anime

lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flurrin In reply to HollyRoseBriar [2011-11-03 00:22:42 +0000 UTC]

>.< Yeah.
Things like that scare me because I empathize too much, I think. I literally put myself in the character's shoes in the nightmare I had, and it wasn't pretty.

xD Fans...
