AND THEN MY HEAD EXPLODED!it was pretty cool looking.
o_______o;;;..............I'm shaking....I'm nervous...I shouldn't be...theres no way I'm gonna win this scholarship thing. its all national and junk. well, first local, but Dallas is pretty big.
Least I got a cool pic out of it.
hm......hopefully, this pic is self explainitory. I had fun with the colors...I really like the way it came out. My mind in a nutshell............an exploding nutshell..but the girl is NOT me. ok? ok.
now I have to go write my explanation for this annd write why I wanna study design.......the sad thing is, I don't know what field of art I want in yet....sooo eh.....I gotta sound convencing..........argh, I'm a nervous wreck, whhhy ;____;
This is a scholarship submission for the Art Institute poster design competition. I will hopefully be able to go to the open house to the Art Institute of Dallas on Saturday and go tour my dream school that I will never get to go to ;______; too much mooooney......
ps. that girl up there reminds me of Ariel...and that black monster, I call him the ink monster. he spits ink. yay!

so after my many freak outs, this pic won me first place in the local area contest along with $3000, and that made me able to go to my dream school, AI of Dallas.
In the national competition, I placed 4th in the country, winning $10,000 more to help me with my expenses.
I am so grateful for all that has happened; if not for this, I wouldn't get to go to AI at all. I have the pleasure of attending AI beginning in October, studying media arts and animation
---> it changed to Graphic Design This pic will be in the 2008 AI calendar (or one of them at least), as April (4th place, 4th month). rocks even more since April is when my birthday is
Can't wait to get my copy ^^-further editing-
I made it into Animation my 3rd quarter of college. It's...a tough subject o__o; but hey, just goes to show, if this could happen to me, it could DEFINATELY happen to you~

HEY YOU. I won 1st place in the Sacramento 2009 local poster design. I am also an animation kid, starting in July 13th. Tell me in detail how awesome the major is, etc.

first off, congratulations!!!
secondly, experiences may vary depending on what teachers are there, how focused on animation that school is, etc etc.
thirdly, IT FLIPPIN AWESOME!! you get to watch cartoons in class for study, get the inside scoop on what really goes on in the animation fields, learn all the inside tricks of the movies (seriously, they're cool), and when you actually get to watch movies as homework? wooow. good ones too (was assigned to watch 'the shining' one week and 'raiders of the lost ark' another)
Not all fun and games though, really. It's hard work, seriously hard work. to give you a brief example, I'm down to eating one meal a day, sleeping....hardly, and I actually have class in an hour XD there will most likely be times when you rethink your decision like 'WHY did I choose this major!?' (trust me, it happens) and you feel like quitting, but really when you stick in there, it's so rewarding, and you realise how much you've grown and learned in that short amount of time. although it may lean you towards being very anti social, I feel so out of touch with people now, its pretty sad. but that happens when you're strapped to a computer screen for hours straight. (also, keep in shape. the computer is evil)
OH, and also....be sure to have money. like..a lot of money saved up just in case. Animation paper is EXPENSIVE as well as most of the books, etc. and lord FORBID AI give anything away for FREE. D: although occasionally the culinary students cook for us, and that's nice
uh...anything else you want to know about? I'm just kind of rambling.

making friends in the animation major is a good idea; always good to have a friend to ask help from

Wow, this is... amazing. The red hair attracts your eyes to the center, and then leads you to the wings through that blue thing right above the red hair, then from the wings my eyes travel to the coolest black evil monster thing, which trails down to the person that's head is exploding, and then to the purple trail. Very nice job. Very amazing. Favourited. Most definitely you're going to do really well at this, because everything is so detailed and professional.
You should sell a print of this! Of course without the logos, but yeah.
