I got a few requests to continue the Quadrophenia story after painting "The Rock", and since I have a few ideas for these, I think that maybe I will.

Gotta say that I'm really a weirdo when it comes to The Who, because I mainly like their early stuff and not the things that made them superstars xD But yeah, I've listened Quadrophenia quite a few times just because y'know, I rather like concept albums. Especially if the story is dramatic and emotional to follow.

Anyway, the picture is just lovely. I really like thing outlines, like it's a bit sketchy. Makes him look fragile and indeed drowing. It's really hard to leave rough, you just have to trust yourself and believe it is finished enough. This sort of thing would be ruined if polished too much.

Hey, I don't think that's weird at all! I do think that Quadrophenia is their best album, but my pick for second is definitely My Generation- they were great in their young mod days!

Thank you so much, I really love using thin, intentionally shaky lines while drawing, and this seemed like a good work to use them in. You always have such good insights into my work too, I love hearing your commentary.

Mod-phase of many bands and artists seem to be my passion really... most people seemed to have a very short but serious mod-phase, but it always lasted for couple years, tops^^ That smohow makes it interesting to me, because lots of thing came trough mod attitude, but it turned into a retro inspiration thing, like, even before it was dead xD

Shakyness is good, I have the tendency to oerwork things as I always doubt if the piece will look whole or just unfinished. I really admire people who can just leave things sketchy and they still look airy and brilliant^^

That's exactly what happened to mod culture, and it's rather ironic since the whole thing was about being "modern" and looking forward. I have a lot of feelings about mod culture...

Mod culture is such a weird thing, you rarely find anyone sayint that they were mod, just they were trying to be mod like some other people. But seldom anyone says that yes, I was mod in anyway. To me it always feels like t's a concept that never really fully existed and that's why it stll feels somewhat fresh and modern. I dunno, histers of the day sort of, popular enough for everyone too know it, but hard to actually capture in a sincere way.

I've thought about writing about it, but funny enough I still don't feel like I know enough to talk about it properly xD I don't know, it's an interesting subject, but seems to somehow escape full comrehension all the time.

Thank you so much! This is very, very deliberate mess, involving fingerpainting, flicking paint with a toothbrush, and pouring salt into wet paint, so I'm glad you think it works well.
