Description
Commissioned piece for master custom car collector Kurt McCormick. The car, a '41 Cadillac, was originally customized by the legendary Harry Westergard in 1948, for owner Al Lauer, after the car was damaged in a flood. The car was never published in magazines, and is a fine example of Mr. Westergard's masterful design and metalworking skills.Fast-forward some 50 years, and the car was restored, and I was asked to create the slightly cartooned rendering above to present to Mr. McCormick upon the car being completed.
In any event, Illustrator CS2, using pencil roughs created from reference photos... Hope you enjoy!

This is sick. Great job. Only thing I don't like the shadow as it looks a little too light especially since the front tire view you would see part of the tread. Solid black might be better. just my .02
