Description
In honor of my most anticipated film of 2018, "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" I have drawn Rexy again. This time more accurately brown colored. The Indoraptor may be my new favorite dinosaur of the Jurassic films but Rexy still holds a place high in my heart as one of my favorite characters of all time in media and in general.

Weirdly the drawing came out looking like The Land Before Time's "Sharptooth" which is also a favorite look of classic dinosaurs. Redrawing Rexy didn't take long as I didn't go very meticulous about it and it made drawing shorter and more fun. Her arms were trouble and I went a tad inaccurate in order for her arms to be shown. They're also a bit bigger too. I was surprised I was able to draw the logo letters of "Jurassic World" at all and I was tickled when I made it more accurate by simply drawing lines in the letters. This is a drawing that is one of my new favorites.

For me Rexy is... like other famous movie creatures like King Kong and Godzilla and it's not surprising for me that she in Jurassic World made a better Godzilla movie than the actual Godzilla movie. She's an icon of cinema and a creature that is very much an animal. She doesn't save humans on purpose, is not good or evil, she's just trying to survive and has done a damn good job of it having persisted from the original film to 25 years later in Fallen Kingdom. I love that now Rexy as well as the other dinosaurs have taken their place not just as movie monsters but as true protagonists leading the story which as a long time Jurassic fan makes me happy.
