SOME UPDATES!!

Firstly, this page is uploaded smaller! Let me know how you feel about this! I've had some comments about readbility, and it's never something I've considered because I like reading large, and the fill screen has always fit well for me. However, screen sizes vary more than pixel dimensions do, so having a set size means it should be eaiser for everyone to read. It does hurt the quality a little, but I don't think its awful at this scale - and I'm also biased and used to full res. Try to give your opinion without flipping back and forth between pages if you can - I've found the smaller size doesn't bug me when I'm not making comparisons. It's also probably wise for theft prevention - not something I've been worried much about honestly, but an additional benefit. It's at 1000 pixels currently.

After chapter 1 is complete and the minor updates to old pages begin, they will be updated to be the same size*. However, as of now, I'll just be posting current pages smaller to avoid manually saving/uploading 300+ pages multiple times (it'd be once to scale, and then a few months later, I'd have to do them all again with updates. Not worth the extra time).

*This is assuming the majority like this size, if not I may play a bit more. But especially in light of eclipse's stupid new zoom methods (and the lack of response to my questions), I imagine scaled pages will be a neccessity at some point.

Secondly, I'm going to be taking a break from updating next week, and then going back up to two updates per week! Not sure how long it will last (work hasn't picked up for me yet this summer) but hopefully I can go at least until next semester starts! May just be until the end of the chapter. Not sure. The week off is to add a little more cushion and to get myself organized.

I know I can manage finishing two a week, but with chapter one on the go as well it actually needs to be 3-4, which may be hard with work. I really want 2/week though, since this is a slower chapter and I find 2/week is much nicer for pacing. I tested finishing 4 this week and it's been fine (finally getting to some quicker pages in both chapter 10 and also chapter 1, so instead of it being 8 hours x 4 its 5 hours x 4, which is much more managable), so hopefully that holds for a while. My buffer is designed to burn, but I know I'll need it for 4th year uni and I'd like it in good shape before I inevitably destroy it then, lmao.

See you all with more pages in June!

I’ll be honest, I’m KINDA on Anise’s side here. Like I don’t think that being openly and aggressively hostile ever solved much, and I’m all for the power of friendship and hugs, but Anise doesn’t owe you anything dude.

You’re trying to act like an animal tamer towards what is basically a human being in the body of a giant timber wolf... with superpowers. And in her eyes you basically kidnapped her kid and then beat the crap out of her. Yes, you helped and tried to fix the mistake you made, and we, the readers, know you have good intentions, but to Anise, you crossed a serious line. She’s not just going to suddenly be your friend, and the perceived lack of respect for the LARGE MAGIC PREDATOR in your house isn’t helping.

People don’t work like that, and neither do Pokémon.

just tell them in a way they'll understand. like ask tiarra to write it for you. get things going and to the point.

Anise, you may not be a housepet, but you certainly are a good person. Act like it, even if you aren't comfortable right now.

I think the smaller format is fine as long as the text is well readable.^^

How’s it look to you at the current smaller size; readable enough?

To throw in my two cents here, I find the text plenty readable on desktop, but when I read the page on my phone on deviantart mobile it's barely on the side of readable, very small. That's more a matter of text size to page size ratio than of text size on a shrunken page, but I figured I'd throw in the feedback I had thought of when I read this page on my phone this morning.

I love Anise, being such a petty baby about her giant pancakes. Not a housepet, but still a good dog in my heart.

I find it pretty readable on my phone o: I do like zooming in when I read anything on mobile though, so maybe thats part of it. From full view its a little tight but I've never read any comic on mobile without zooming; too small to make out the art properly otherwise.

yeah i specifically am talking about reading without zooming. having to zoom in to read is a hassle and da mobile isnt a great at it

This page is perfect I would say, could be problematic if you try to put smaller text in same size bubbles.
I guess we see how the format looks over the next pages to decide if it's good or not.

Ah, my text is always the same size! I use one font size so it’ll never be smaller, save for maybe whispering or sound effects occasionally.

Ok, yeah that sounds very reasonable.
Let's see how it works out If some errors occur or something seems problematic I'll note you.
