Nice design. I wonder why the rail cannons though? Expecting pirates?

The shading on the impact shield looks particularly good.

Thanks!  The rail cannons are for firing impactors at objects like asteroids and comets to test their composition*, change their direction, or destroy them.  


*and example of impacting something to test it's compostion occured in this actual recent NASA mission - www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/dee…
