Well, boy and girls, my stupid computer crashed last night and after an early morning trip to Best Buy, I was able to recover a good bit of my data (thankfully, I backed most of it up separate drives) but, unfortunately, I lost my list of e-mail addresses. If you sent me yours so you could receive the more risqué versions of my work, please send them again and I'll get the latest to you ASAP.Sorry, guys, but to quote the classic bumper sticker; 'Shit Happens'

I been there losing stuff I still miss today.
Good to know you recovered some of the data.
I got backups on external drives and on online storage place.
Just using the online free capacity as for now.
So can share and show stuff wherever I am.

I got my first desktop from Sears (if you can believe it) back in the 90's. It's about the size of a Buick, been moved from one end of the country to the other, dropped to the floor, is slow as hell and still going strong. Now a days, it seems these laptops can barely survive the ride home from the store. I guess it's now just the world we live in, as soon as some new piece of tech bullshit comes along, we all feel like were gonna die if we don't have...like I really need to know what temperature my fridge is when I'm on vacation.

Working with computers myself I know there is a lot off crap out there.
Here in Norway we not have Sears, Best Buy, Walmart but we still can buy crap in other stores.
Not only computers but everything as you knows....
Latest was a cheap t-shirts I bought the other day and it ripped when I was getting it on.
Yeah, I might be a bit chubby but no reason for it to rip in half.
Complained about it and them offered a new t-shirt, exactly same.
I said "Well I be back tomorrow then!"
I remember my old "High tower" in the 90's as big as a house (almost).
Weighted more than me or that what I felt it weighted.
Dragged it around, painted it, used it as a bench or a table for stuff.
Was built to last, thick metal shelf and huge components.
When I bought a new computer I gave it away to a friend.
He had it for several years before he trashed it.
I stay with my stationary at home, built it in 2012 and never actually finish it (Info on my "Profile page").
Tune and tweak it for my use and it still kicks ass compare to many machines out there.
Lots of funny "not needed" tech stuff out there, that for sure.
Like the Japanese toilet fountains that been out forever.
Or the toilet radio, well that can be useful if you plan a long visit.

The far north them have sun 24h in summer time and darkness 24h in winter time.
Here in south-east where I live there is more "normal" but quite dark in winter time.
Beautiful ladies there is everywhere also in other countries and I been around so I know.
The lady I with is one I met on my many travels around the world years ago.
A true American and proud off it as I am proud to be Norwegian crazy maniac viking.
She the sweetest angel and by far the best that ever happen in my life.
I work my butt off in periods and in other periods I'm more lazy and calm.
And there always time for computers some way or another.

Yeah, that about right.
Funny thing is 1.5 liter bottle cost around 25-30 NOK and a 0.5 liter cost 20-25 NOK.
In some shops the 1.5 liter and 0.5 liter is same price but 0.5 liter is most sold.
Sometimes I drive to Sweden and buy most stuff for less money, about 90min drive one way.
There is a limit with custom but you can always take another trip the day after.

A friend of mine and I went to Canada once and stopped at a duty-free store on the US side. It was full of Canadians buying cigarettes and liquor, all of which was about a third of the price they pay in their own country. I don't see how you guys pay such high prices AND pay such high taxes. Do you only eat once a week or something?
