Description
"The Grootslang is a fascinating serpent species that live in caves in and around Richtersveld, South Africa. Besides being known for its massive size (with its head being the same size of an African Elephant and a body spanning 40 ft (12.2m) long), they also sport a trunk-like appendage at the front of their face which they use as an extrasensory organ, similar to the forked tongue of many other snakes. While incredibly dangerous and a hyper-carnivore (their hunting grounds primarily being on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean a few kilometers away), they covet minerals, and will occasionally spare a meal in exchange for a precious gem.
