Note: I know I'm behind. Sometimes you simply don't have time to do these, and sometimes even when you try your best to make sure you get a day to catch up, sometimes that doesn't happen the way you want it to, be it through some reason or another, a cause of your own creation or situations beyond your control. This is why I don't do commissions right now, or whenever I make deadlines for myself in terms of drawings I can never seem to hold them the way I want to. Mermay has been a challenge, a fun one that I've wanted to do for years, but a challenge all the same. And at least today, if fate and my energy levels allow, I will complete the ones that I have left over (which is a finale). Hope y'all understand.

The Mermay Challenge is an art challenge where artists are asked to draw 1 mermaid every day based on a series of prompts.

I decided to take my own spin on it and create mermaids based off of different prehistoric marine life. Hope you enjoy!

Mermaid is based off the Great Auk, a flightless bird that driven to extinction by June 1844 by humankind. (Holocene Epoch, Cenozoic Era).

Made in May 2021 using Photoshop.
