This was supposed to be just a sketch for practice, but the pencil drawing took me 2h and so I figured I could just as well color it, too. Got to inaugurate my new color pencils that I got as Christmas present from my cousin.
The original picture is called "cry for dust" by Caitlin Worthington, found it on DeviantArt. She describes it's a spontaneous photograph of "Molly" looking at the clouds. I found it intriguing because there's so much drama in her eyes - these clouds must have been a hell of a spectacle! Of course kids can fantasize all sorts of things into clouds - what might she have been seeing?
The face doesn't resemble the original that much; I didn't correct much in the beginning when I was still thinking this would only be a sketch. With the small chin she kind of reminds me of ChloΓ« Grace Moretz...
