The blonde young woman was on a walk in the woods. She crossed a little birch forest in the middle of all the other trees and stopped for a moment. It was a nice scenery. But the calm vibe got interrupted a few moments later. Kiras eyes darted to her Soullurker, while Nihil fixated another person with a hateful glance. The greyish creature ducked down and got ready to jump at the man. From where did this man pop up? She felt certain that there was no other person around just a moment before. But this wasn't the right moment to think about such things... Within a second the girl scurried over to the side of their Lurker, to obstruct Nihil from the man that fled the same moment Nihil materialized in front of him.
"Don't you dare to do that!" The swirly dark blue pupil darted to her, her eyelids twitching together to give them a miffy look.
"Why not? He was a bad person. He looked at you with this specific look! I know what he wanted to do", their voice was slightly growling and the Lurker tried to get rid of Kira's hand that get a hold of their face. But the blonde girl strengthened her grip and pulled up their face closer to her own nose. At the same moment, their eyes were on the same level, the big creature sat down onto their hind legs.
"You shouldn't even think of attacking people just because they 'looked at me in a specific way', Nihil! You can't just walk around and take the law into your own hands... paws... claws... oh, whatever! The thing is, that you can't just kill everyone else, even more: before something has happened! Do you understand me?" The Lurker murmured with an unclear voice and their look turned from slightly miffy into defiant while their glimpse turned away.
"But... That is what I do! I have to protect you! Protect you from such unhonorable persons!"
"Nihil", Kira's voice resembled a growl but after a moment she sighed and let the Lurkers face go. Nihil shooked their body to release their tense and stood up, their ears laying plane on their head. "It's not up to you or me or anyone else to judge someone for the things he wants to or will do in the future. When he really does something bad, I'll probably have to find him and bring him to court anyway. But it's not up to me to get rid of him, just because he could do something bad. Even if you are perfectly sure that he will do so. Do you understand that? And, to be honest, I can protect myself, don't forget about that." The Soullurker had a look in their eye that showed Kira that they wouldn't give her an answer. The blonde girl smirked slightly and moved closer to their Lurker. With an observing glance in their eye, the Lurker froze on the spot and waited until the human stood right in front of her. Her hands grabbed gently the round face of the creature and her thumbs stroked over their cheeks.
"We live in a world with laws, please accept that you can't go and murder every bad person around me, okay?" For another moment the Soullurker looked at the girl with their miffy glimpse but then they sighed, closed their eye, and nestled their face into her arms.
"I just want to protect you. I can't accept that another person touches you in that way. I can't stand that feeling in me." Kira stroked the fluffy short pelt of her Soullurker and rubbed her cheek against Nihils fur.
"You are allowed to protect me. I appreciate that. But don't just kill people, okay?" With a pregnant sigh, the Lurker nodded slightly.
"I'll try."
