Roof Shadow trotted into the territory lines, she had entered close to the swamp lands. And dear starclan did it reek! She scrunched up her nose but kept on, looking for any sign of the Clan cats.

Deepsigh walked along the Dampclan border, like he found himself doing more and more these days. He was about to jump after a frog when he spotted a cat close to the Dampclan border.
Curious, he made his way over there as stealthily as he could. . . Which wasn't very stealthy at all because he sucks at that kind of thing.

Quickly spotting the other cat Roof Shadow bounded over "Heya!" She said a little too loudly. She had wild orange eyes and several scar marks on her eye and left side "Are you a clan cat?"

Deepsigh quickly stiffened at the sudden noise, and just completely gave up on the whole "stealthy " idea.
He approached the stranger cautiously, arching his long tail over his back. "Yeah I'm a clan cat. Are you a clan cat? Or are you a loner or rogue? Or something else?" The brown spotted tom replied.

"rouge" She brushed the question away quickly "Who're you?

"You're a rogue? Well, I'm a warrior of Dampclan," he replied. "What brings you around here anyways?"

"I've been looking to join one of the clans" She sits down her long tail swaying behind her "I got directed here by some kittypets. There are so many clans from what i've seen"

" oh is that so? Well, I know that Dampclan would be more than willing to accept you. Like, they wouldn't even think twice, but also they're really weird. They creep me out, and they're my own clan mates. Other clans are not always as accepting I've heard, but I haven't really talked to anyone from other clans,"
Deepsigh sat across from her, wrapping his tail around his paws as he talked.

She looks intrigued by this "Wierd? what do you mean Wierd?" Roof Shadow leans forward a little bit wide orange eyes staring at him.

Deepsigh tried his best to explain. "Well, for one thing, their eyes. They're gigantic and unnatural. . . And they're personalities, they act spaced out, and they're often really flirty and touchy. An entire clan like that, even cats that weren't born into it. I'm a little worried about myself ha ha. It's hard to explain, you might just want to see them."
He met her orange eyes with his yellow ones, " I don't know what's wrong with them."

The cat leans back pondering this over in thought. "Never heard of cats acting like that, thats real weird. I heard some others had gone off into here and never come out, that was my real interest." She pauses flicking her tail back and forth as she thinks.

"Yeah, I've heard of that too, but I think that went on before I got here," Deepsigh replied, his tail lashing worriedly. "It's really weird though."

"Sounds like it" She shakes her head "They'd welcome me in if i asked?" Roof shadow asks

"Yeah, I'm sure of it. You want to join?" Deepsigh said, getting up. "Want me to take you to the camp? "

"Let me think on it" She says getting up as well "I'm Roof Shadow by the way. You can call me Roof"

"Yeah, that's a good idea. I'm Deepsigh, but you can call me whatever you want to," he said. "So uh, are you new to the area?"

"Came by quarter moon ago, set up near by" She flicks her tail the way she came "Deepsigh? what kinda name is that?"

"I've been here for a moon or two, not long. " he said, "Oh and my name? It's a clan cat thing I guess. Everyone has names like that here I think. I was born as Chaser, but when I joined the clans, I was renamed. Roof Shadow is similar I guess, it's a two part name at least."

"I understand that, but your name meaning? Sigh as the second part?" She tilts her headΒ

"Oh uh, the leader picks that part. And with all the weird stuff they all do, I'd find myself sighing a lot, so 'Deepsigh ' it is. I wonder if they'd give you a new name?"

"From the sound of it i'd probably keep my name" Roof chuckles looking about again "You seen any wierd lights? i spotted one the other day"

"Yeah , I'd think so too," Deepsigh replied, "You saw one the other day? I've seen several , but I haven't gone to see what they were. My mom would always tell me not to follow lights, but that was because my kithood was spent by a thunderpath, and she didn't want us to be run over by a monster by following its glowing eyes. . .the lesson stuck though"

"My brothers sister rose me. Lived in a twoleg town several days from here" Roof moves about sniffing around and looking into the swamp

"Really? My mom raised me and my sister, and we spent our kithood pretty far away from here. Once Harpy passed, we found ourselves moving around, and eventually my mom and I went our separate ways. I ended up finding this place many moons later , ended up joining a clan, and here I am, " Deepsigh said. He watched Roof sniff around, and added, "Watch out for deep mud, or gators. I haven't seen a gator yet, but I've been told they're out here."

She shuffled back and sat down next to him after hearing the word Gator. "Well Poppy hive raised me and taught me the basics, been on my own for a few moons now. My mom was a kittypet, and dad was a rogue so that didnt go over well."

"Yeah I was on my own for a long time, it's been, what, like 13 or 14 moons since I've last seen my mom. I've never met my dad, as soon as he found out my mom was pregnant, he was gone," He said. After a short pause he added, "but now that I'm here, I've seen more cats in this area with the clans then anywhere else I've been combined. It's a big change, but it's nice."

"Is it? I travelled with a large group before but it was only for a short while." Roof shadow pauses thoughtfully "although they were pretty weird"

"Really? What do you mean?" Deepsigh asked, his ears pricking up curiously. "Are they as weird as these guys?" He asked, gesturing toward Dampclan territory with his tail.

"Well no not that kind of wierd" She shook her head "The group i travelled with for awhile was a giant group of cats 30 maybe 40 cats all travelling a certain route depending on the season. They let people come with them and leave freely, they talk about strange places they've seen and some of the cats are from all walks of life." Roof looks a little whistful "I thought about staying with them, but i Β decided to head off on my own"

"Wow that's sounds really cool ! I bet that was really interesting. I bet you met a lot of interesting cats," Deepsigh replied.

Roof was soaking wet and sitting in the medicine cat done, Moiststar had just led her into the camp and showed her to wispvision. Too bad he was out. She didnt even want to lick the slime off her fur fearing the taste

Deepsigh had just come back to camp from a quick hunting trip. Seeing Roof from across the camp, he dropped the fresh kill in the pile and bounded over.
"So you did decide do join!" He meowed happily.

She grumbled but smiled at her new friend "Your wierdo leader made me swim through the swamp land" She hisses unhappily "Something about him made me want to believe him. Should'a just found a different way here" Giving her chest an embarrassed lick she scrunched her nose up in distasteΒ

"Yeah, you see what I mean about them being uh, a little off ," he said, lowering his voice. "Anyways, Moiststar is surprisingly good at convincing cats to do stuff. He has a . . . Charm I guess. Anyways, they're probably other ways to get to camp without getting wet , but I've always just swam to because it's quicker. Maybe we can find a different route?"

"yes please, if i get wet again i'm gonna claw my eyes out. I'm terrified of swimming." She lays her head down "Dont know how he did. But i'm gonna find out" Roof stares across the clearing at Moiststar whos chatting with a clanmate

"Let's take a look around the camp for other ways in then," Deepsigh said, "when you're ready to leave the medicine cat's den. And yeah, there's a lot of things about this clan I'd like to figure out, like what happened to the cats here."

"I'm sure if the travellers come by this area i can ask if they know something" She says, stretching for a moment she gets up "I'll take that look around camp"

"Yeah that's a good idea. It's also a good idea to talk to elders next gathering, maybe they know a little more," Deepsigh replied. He walked out of the den, waving for Roof to follow with his tail. "Let's see if there's dry land around the camp first," he offered.

She nods and trots after him happily, roof gazes at each of the clanmates in turn as they look around. "They're eyes look like they're bloodshot but.." She whispers

"Yeah, and they hardly blink ever. It's really weird. . . And have you felt their fur? It's really clammy and weird. Almost dead, you know? Sometimes I wonder if they have a pulse," Deepsigh whispered back.

"We can wait till one of them is sleeping." She says Β with a sly gleam in her eye. "Once i get the lay of the territory i'll start heading out more often to look for things too"

"Yeah, that's a good idea!" Deepsigh replied, "and we can learn what makes them like this, so that the same thing doesn't happen to us,"
