Description "Wake up, Emily."

She rubbed her eyes and finally opened them, looking up at the ceiling. The vines intertwining, the new leaves appearing – being the only world she knew, Emily instantly recognized anything that changed, every morning when she would wake up.
Then, the usual routine. Looking out of the window at the world outside, the world she was not allowed to visit. Waiting for a miracle to happen, for the door to open not only so that her beloved grandmother could bring her the medication; but maybe for the old woman to walk in with a radiant smile, telling her a definitive cure had been found and she would finally be able to walk freely on the grassy meadows, or, if it happened to be winter, play in the snow.
But for then, it was not meant to be.
The small window never let in enough light for her to read, write or draw; read about other people's lives, write about herself in their shoes or drawing her dreams. Thus she would light a candle, its flickering flame reflecting on the walls and the circular window, closing her off in a dreamworld. Outside, the light never flickered like that – Emily hoped she would one day see it, feel the heat of the sun, smell the fresh air, see the stars… which she had never. The thick glass did not let their faint, distant shine in, only the moon slowly passed by once a month.
She lit two candles this time, one to see well her bottle of evening medicine, the other she took in her hand and lifted to the window.
"A new one, hello" her attention was diverted to the small light green leaf that appeared on the vines over the night.
They were slowly creeping over her only contact with the outside world, yet she would never cut or tear them off. She considered those plants her friends she could talk to, and they always, always listened. And grew when she would stand shakily up and water them.

The ghostly light reflected on the glass, the cobwebs appeared to shine.
"Am I happy in this world?"
The flame trembled, the shiny cobwebs moved slightly, and Emily felt startled.
"What happened?"
As everything calmed down again, she felt her heart settling. No change, no miracle, it was just a casual whiff of breeze, probably entering from an unnoticed crack in the wall. Emily blew the first candle, and put it back on the shelf. She knelt up to the second one, and reached out for her medication, knowing nothing would ever change anytime soon.

Then, a knock on the door.
