Interesting use of textures! I've wanted to try a style like that (flat but detailed textures) but never been able to pull it off myself.

Thanks! I did the blood with texture brushes as well. If you're curious, check out the tutorials I linked. I did some channels stuff to get the textures confined in one space, though. And screwed around with "soft light" and "multiply" layers.
And PE is "Private Exchange" - a by-invitation art exchange group that I've been a part of for... seven? years. o_o wow.

Oh, well, I know how to add textures, but I've never been able to do it in a way that looks GOOD. I think I may be relying too much on lighting and semi-realistic rendering.

Yeah, it totally depends on the approach you take. I usually do lighting and semi-realistic stuff, which is why I had to follow the tuts, too.

Dwen linked me to this to show off her present, and man. Beth turned out really amazing in this. And. Entirely too attractive to be surrounded by that many organs. Oops.
I just really love the colors, especially, and the little details, too, like the random drops of blood, and the tear in her stockings. Great work!

Delicious. The fabric definitely has that luxurious, shimmery look, though staring at the top where it fades into the wallpaper made me realize your mirror/window doesn't exist behind it!
