I'll have to agree with you completely. Good lord that Supercarrier is terrible, even justifying upscaling a regular ol' Assault Carrier is going to be bumpy at best.
That said, it's not easy designing a Covenant ship, even I must say my design might be straying from the Covenant aesthetic a wee bit, then again, there isn't that much canon material to work with anyhow, and the ships themselves are all over the place in terms of design. Might attempt a carrier or something similar when I get the chance, but I do want to move abit away from the whole whale-head thing, its getting abit old.

I can find side profiles and silhouettes but that doesn't really tell you much of the overall shape. It's dissapointing because there is clearly an amazing design lineage there.
I'm so glad I'm not the only person to think that. Seriously, THAT'S not the ship the good Capt. Keyes and the PoA brought down. D: Boooring I say. I say, we should have a whole new design. *insert anti-reach slogans here* ^^,

Agreed. I prefer to think of UNSC design elements, like the similarities and differences associated with various UNSC ship classes, and applying similar principles within the dimorphism of the various Covenant ship classes as well. They all share similar features and design elements, but are unique enough to be differentiated as different ship classes on their own. I like to use the Covenant Destroyer/CCS/Assault Carrier as a way of isolating and extrapolating upon the Covenant design aesthetic.
Actually, I sorta like Reach, maybe not the whole messing with canon thing though.(Seriously, Cortana, wtf) I guess you could call it lukewarm, although alot of the content looks great, especially the space cutscenes.
Also, I believe the ship the great captain brought down was a Supercruiser, not a supercarrier, which had that energy lance thing that sniped the UNSC fleet beyond the range of the ODPs. However, the one thing that bugs me is the end of "The Long Night of Solace", which states that the Fleet of Particular Justice jumped right under the Orbital Defense Grid, which hopefully, did not mean right below the firing line of the ODPs, which would punch some serious holes into not only established continuity, but render the whole point of ODPs and the subsequent defense of Reach thing rather pointless.
