Description The year is 2065, mankind has reached the dawn of a new era of incompetency. A world where Murphy's Law rules, and only one organization has the equipment (and general competence) to save it.

Thus, introducing Thunderbird 1, or TB1, International Rescue's Hypersonic, Hyper-cool, Swing-Wing Superplane! This badass machine can reach any place on earth within an hour, thanks to it's Nuclear Thermal Engine that allows it to reach speeds of Mach 22, saving people from burning oil rigs, out-of-control airliners, rampant and ridiculous use of atomic energy and that poor kitty stuck on the tree, all in the nick of time.

Don't get me wrong, I love this show. Even the puppets. Especially the puppets.

I should have started with TB5 though, and do the epic countdown....
But alas. TB1 is and always be my favourite.

I have a confession to make. I think I've fallen in love with the gimbaled engine design of TB1 in the horrible, horrible 2004 movie.(The scene where TB1 dances around TB2 melted my heart)

Thanks to that, I feel like doing a hybrid TB1 with elements of that lovely engine design. (This is so blasphemous)

TB2 on the other hand...dear lord, KILL IT WITH FIRE.

Honestly, I would praise the art direction of said movie, (except whoever did the redesign of TB2, who deserves flogging). I have a fancying for the TB4 redesign too, maybe because the original looked a little...kitbashed-y.

Also, Lady P is super cute. RAWR.

Well presented and the model looks great. Have you used it in any rescue scenes?

my god, this is incredible! you've come so far in 3d work its amazing. although i may be bias here because i love thunderbirds so.
I agree, TB1 in the new movie was pretty cool, the barrel roll over TB2's back was great. TB2's blended wing design was a cool idea i liked in the design, but wasn't that pretty. they just stuck some greebles on TB3, TB4 was cool, and so was TB5. I cant wait to see if you can make it though the whole set!

Howdy Itsomi, so nice of you to drop by. I had a feeling you'd be interested in this, since I used some of your 2D work as reference, and it helped tremendously (I was baffled with discrepencies in photographs of the model until your work showed that there were actually two different TB1 models used in the show)

Anyway, I would love to have TB1's variable-geometry swing wing instead of the double wing in movie-TB1.(Although it wasn't too bad, I can live with that) The engine gimbal system is just brilliant I must say.

TB2. Ugh. Don't get me started. So many things are wrong with that thing. It doesn't have the pod system anymore. I loved old-TB2's aft engine-thingies, which IMO was the one of the first things that drew me to the series.

TB3. Love the landing gear-in-the-thruster-nacelles idea. Not so much with the cockpit (similar in TB1, I hate that both TB1 and TB3 have obvious glass-cockpits. I can say I enjoy the omnious and mysterious feeling invoked by those machines by not having a visible cockpit). Conflicted with the three extra thrusters under the primary fuselarge (the entry point for the crew in the series). Looks cool no doubt, but made me think how are they going to bloody enter the machine.

TB4. I actually like the redesign, even though it strayed farthest from the original. In honesty, I always regarded the original TB4 has the ugliest of IR's craft (maybe on par with the equally-ugly Domo)

TB5. Love the blend with old and new. Kudos to the CGI guys. The actors (except Lady Penelope, Parker and with the possibly Brains), deserve to be launched to Mars and fed to the Rock Snakes.

As for the whole set, I'm not sure where to go at this point. Might want to do a personal redesign of TB1 with that fishawesomelycool engine system first. TB2 would be a bish to draw. TB3 and 4 would be much easier. TB5 would be time-consuming but generally easier than TB1.

Look at me still talking when there's Thunderbirds to build. D:
