Description Just graduated high school. Gave this drawing to Mr. K for the end of the school year as a parting gift-- it took me a couple weeks of on and off work-- far more than 12 hours. Made it for him. Gave that bastard a hug. After doing my concentration/art homework in general for the full year, I just wanted to do something patterny and abstract, with a lot of color. Oy, I sure will miss OotB, Immovable, Meditation, and the OTBoxers.

As you can tell, the shape is very irregular. Also, the drawing was quite large, so I couldn't fit it even in the school's big scanner, so I had to scan it multiple times and sort of frankenstein it together in photoshop. For whatever reason-- probably because the drawing was not completely flat on the scanner-- the drawing's a bit distorted and so overlapping different scans was very imprecise and there is a lot of distortion. So this is not truly what it looks like, but it's pretty close.

Done with markers and pen, as in the previous several works.

Right now I'm working on getting a part-time summer job. Possibly Wal Greens or Apple store, depending on if I get hired. Planning my year, as well. Not sure what I'll do yet-- probably a lot of Spanish language and literature. Going to Australia later with fambly.

I've been making a list of academic fields I'd like to become more familiar with and am very nervous about the fact that, logistically speaking, I will have not-a-lot of time in college to pursue a lot of things in depth. I suppose my current authors I am really interested in are Diane Ravitch, Richard Rothstein, Valerie Strauss, Richard Dawkins, and danah boyd. Sort of a random bunch.
