Hey guys! this is my 2nd entry for this coming months "Chipper Chap Chat Jam" over at with the theme of 90's Cartoon Reboots.have to redesign at least (3) members of the cast of (1) of the following (3) shows
- Gargoyles
- PowerPuff Girls
- Captain Planet
Went with Gargoyles this time out and did it as a mix of on comp and on ipad..
1 of them happened completely on ipad and 2 more were a hybrid. Wont tell ya which.........unless you ask.
I actually love their original designs so i Didnt change too much on any of them.
Theres some subtle things I was never big on goliath's flat top.
I guessed that was to give him a more stone creature look, but i never liked it soooo its gone.
I remembered that they were from a scottish castle so I tried to infuse just a little bit of braveheart into Goliath's design.
And a gave a little flavor to Brooklyn. I imagine At Least one of them would take a liking to a more modern day fashion.
Had a great time with this one!

I am absolutely all over this. An actual reboot needs to happen. This was a masterful series, just soooooooo fun to watch

It's a brilliant take here. You've definitely added something of your own onto this one that gives it a modern upgrade from the original show.
If they do reboot this series, let's hope they do a better trend of it compared to the other reboots these days.

They give me teenagers vibe. Sure, Brooklyn, Lexington and Broadway are/were teenagers in the show, but Goliath and Demona were clearly adults and now I'd say they are only a few years older.
That being said, I do find this to be awesome, well done!

I LIKE it. Can't get enough of if. Would love to see the rest revamped. I normally don't care for most of the 'revamp/reboot' styles I've seen of this show, but this one...... If the show was rebooted in this style [picking up the original theme, of course], I would tear down the doors to get to a tv to watch it..lol.
I never really cared for Goliath's mullet either... I like the style you gave him, hair and all. It fits what I expected a Scottish clan to be wearing. Brook's dreads work in well also. His beak is just a touch too short, but still recognizable. Loving what you did with Lex. He would have had those slits in his web-wings to allow for the loin cloth. Demona looks like the evil shrew that she is, but one too many fingers. Overall, they look awesome.

Thank you for the comment and thoughts on my choices with the designs. I dont mind you having an opinion on it, I’d just not post it otherwise. Heh.
I shortened the beak on purpose for Brooklyn. Was a personal choice as I was never a big fan of the beak despite how much i loved the character. So i shortened it a little and gave him the dreads.
Lex’s changes were more practical, The webbing had to change or I’d have to give him a borat bikini or something. And I liked the idea of giving him more bat like ears. I think if I ended up doing more of the characters there would have been more subtle differences between the gargoyles in that way.
Demona having more fingers while at first was unconscious, I did notice early enough in the process to change it, but decided i liked her being different from the rest in that way. I think if I continued to do more, that definitely would have been the most fun part to me. Picking out all the subtle changes to work in or get rid of.

Demona with an extra finger could be explained away after Puck's little 'gift' to her anyway.
As for the rest, I like it. Always thought Brooklyn's beak was a bit too big anyway. Lex's whole design is just top notch and Goliath...omg... Let's just say; fictional character crush.
Taking the time to view and comment was a pleasure. I saw it as a small thumbnail, took a much closer look, snatched it and tossed it up as my newest wallpaper even though it doesn't exactly fit. All the more incentive for you to expand on it and add in Hudson, Broadway and Bronx. I've even given thought to incorporating your design of Goliath's outfit into my fanfic. Maybe even my 3D model, if you don't mind. After all, I am an artist before I'm a writer. The artist's eye has been captured..lol.

I'll be sure to link it if I update my 3D model. I, personally, think you did an awesome job breathing new life into their appearances. Goliath's new do might actually turn out easier to mesh than that silly mullet...lol.

Well Thanks, very glad you liked it. I definitely took a lot of inspiration from braveheart. It took me fighting all my strongest urges not to give them all war paint.

They’d have to keep it mature enough for the fans that remember and for the new kids that need a show like that was. I feel like Young Justice or either of the Airbender shows might be the closest thing since as far as taking the stories serious enough while still being a kids show.
