Bob doesn't look like he would want to be petted...or at least, I wouldn't want to. First off, the subject matter is gross and creepy, but still humorous in a sense, and that is always a great combination. The colors and textures hit the perfect tone. Very organic and fluid brushstrokes really sell it, and those eyes! Also, any sound coming from a mouth like that must be soul-breaking. The background texture is effective, and I can see his slight shadow on it, which is a great touch. As is the tag on his ear- the sans serif font feels very formal, which begs the question of who in the world (or underworld) would get close enough to this creature to tag it? And that is good, because you have haven't just created an image of a weird deformed creature, but you have given it life and made a creature I can actually imagine as real in some horrible horrible alternate world.
I think it is a solid piece and looking at your gallery I can really see an evolution towards more polished finishes. I like it!
