Pre Group History: Kinaya was born into a nomadic pride, though they still found locations to settle in. Her birth pride were known by other prides for their healers. Everyone in the pride would have learned some basic healing, with a few exceptions. Kinaya was quick to become curious about the work her parents did, and they embraced their daughter wanting to learn their craft too. She was picking up some basics very fast. However, with there being a focus on healers and medicinal experts, there was a distinct lack of protection for the peaceful nomads.

It all happened so fast. Before Kinaya knew it, her normal day had changed to a blood soaked nightmare. A nearby pride had attacked the nomads without warning. Kinaya was lucky to be carried away before she saw too much. Her parents urged her to run and keep running. That was the last time she would see them alive. She did as they asked though, the terrified screams growing quiet. she thought she was fine after a short while running as fast as her little legs could carry her, finding a closed off spot to hide. It wasn't much later that she heard some ragged breaths and heavier steps. Two of the lions from the attacking pride had found the area she was in. The wouldn't be able to spot her, but they tried to lure her out into the open. From her hiding spot, Kinaya watched as the two adults revealed they had dragged a poor cub all that distance to use as bait. She watched her friend sobbing, such a young life knowing their time was up. It only instilled more fear into Kinaya's heart. The adults called out to her, promising if she came out, her and her friend would be safe. She knew better than to trust them, even if it meant she wasn't helping her friend. In frustration, the adults took it out on the poor cub, Kinaya watching the entire graphic scene. Her face was a picture of horror, her little heart beating as fast as it could.

Her next moves were careful, but somehow she had fooled them into thinking she was in a different location to where she actually was. This allowed her enough time to slip away, sprinting for as long as she could, trying to outrun all the images she had just seen, but it would be no use. Those memories were there to stay.

Days into her escape, Kinaya had wandered into the Mlima valley, taken in initially by a couple of adolescent lions, later being taken into the pride nearby. Being safe again seemed to bring her back to her normal self, for the most part at least. Still in her cubhood, Kinaya was lucky enough to become close enough with one of the pride members, Moyo, that he adopted her. When her papa Moyo got engaged to her mentor and teacher, Zakia, that happiness built again! Whatever is in store next for the healer apprentice, she knows she has the best family in the world to back her up.

Group History

Growing up, Kinaya continued to train in becoming a healer, like her dad, Zakia, as well as her biological parents. Even after being sometimes a little naughty, Kinaya still found a way to be helpful as a cub could be around the pride. Often she could get overexcited, some referring to her as 'The whirlwind'. Though she was chirpy around some, a lot of the time she was more reserved, almost clinging to her dads. This became more prominent as she had a rather close encounter with a particularly troubling lion, Giza, who put her and her dads' lives at risk with morbid intentions. Although no physical harm came to her, the lioness cub might never be the same again.

As she grew into an adolescent, those bursts of energy seemed to mellow into a young lioness who just wanted to do her best as a healer. Around this time, she shared a crush with another lion her age, though this little romance would be short lived. Although nothing particularly dramatic happened, she took it hard and was distraught, once again comforted by her dads. Although her heart ached, she continued to develop her skills as a healer, and although she knew she couldn't become a fully fledged healer until she was an adult, her knowledge and ability put her on par with some older peers. There was reason to be proud! On one such day, she met a lioness, a new member to the pride, who had come in to be checked by a healer. Kinaya took it upon herself, neither of them knowing the adventure they were about to embark on together. That lioness was none other than Mitera. The two of them hit it off fast, becoming friends in no time. Slowly but surely, through spending time together, learning about each other and late afternoon naps together, they felt a bond growing. On a fateful evening, with a group of friends, Kinaya and Mitera hid themselves away, giggling with each other before admitting the way their feelings had grown for one another. They felt a romance, and agreed to pursue it, much to their delight of their friends.

Not long into their adulthood, Kinaya and Mitera married, sealing their lives together as one on a joyous occasion. The dark pelted lioness couldn't believe how lucky she was to find someone who felt so right to her. In addition, she was given the official title of healer, wearing that title with pride as she got to work in every way she could. Though she wasn't a leader herself, she wanted to help those others that were learning, give them the best chance to succeed with the right attitude.

Perhaps another significant part of her life occurred when her friend from her cub days at Mlima returned; Prince Ikeno. To have him back in her life made the lioness happier than she realised. And if that wasn't enough excitement to her life, she had gained a Sibling in Amaziah, when Zakia and Moyo adopted the cub. To add to all of this, Zakia and Moyo announced they were going to have cubs, Zakia fathering with a surrogate to eventually bring in Ifu, Chipukizi and Nyasha, her baby siblings!

Not all was happy though, with the Nguvu kingdom waging war on Mlima. Only with the assistance of Ustamilivu were they able to keep fighting. Kinaya did all she could to mend wounded soldiers, having even done the same for some Nguvu stragglers she had found on search for supplies. In an act of self defence, Kinaya even managed to end the life of a Nguvu warrior, though this image stuck with her, turning her stomach in flips. None of this war felt right to her, and it didn't help when she had to calm what appeared to be a growing enjoyment for killing that her wife had. Despite their different opinions, they found a way to work through it, with her wife promising she wouldn't relish taking another's life. That promise mulled tensions. Whilst this was going on, Kinaya, Mitera and Ikeno had started to get closer, the latter two from their experience of rescuing Moyo, having to spend plenty of time together. it became apparent to Kinaya that she might have developed some feelings for Ikeno, though she never acted on them. With the war won and things returning to relatively normal state. Kinaya didn't feel these feelings go away, and decided the best thing to do was to talk to her loved one about this. Mitera took the news with some surprise, but that in truth, she had also felt something for Mlima's heir. They agreed they would approach him about this, and to their surprise, he gave a somewhat hesitant agreement. That hesitancy shifted fast, and soon the three became inseparable.

However, when Kinaya made the decision to travel to Nguvu to help teach new healers there, she had to leave them behind. It wasn't permanent, but it would be for a long time. She wished them well and they returned the sentiment. Whilst journeying to Nguvu, Kinaya discovered her cub sister, Nyasha, had tagged along without telling anyone. She sent a message back to tell Zakia and Moyo, then made sure she would look after her sister whilst also educating the Nguvu members who would become the future healers of the pride. She took a lot of enjoyment in teaching her trade to them, getting a great deal of satisfaction to see so many ahrd working lions and lionesses going toward the same goal. It brought her a positive energy with regards to the alliance now forged with Mlima (and by extension Ustamilivu). Whilst she was teaching, she would often let her uncle Kito, the king of Nguvu, look after Nyasha, seeing as he had taken a particular shine to her, the cub resembling his beloved mother.

After six months away, Kinaya and the others who had travelled to Nguvu returned. The first two to greet her were none other than......her dads! Of course, they were beyond relieved to see Nyasha and hear of her time away. It wasn't long before she was reunited with her wife, and even less time after they agreed to make their feelings officially known to others.

Much to her delight, Kinaya was able to get stuck into things back as a healer in Mlima. She had grown a bit of a reputation for being the healer who dealt with pregnancies the most, finding often she would gravitate towards the expectant mothers to make sure they felt as comfortable as possible during their pregnancies. This was no different when even a cubhood friend, Akosua, came to her for confirmation, providing a delightful moment for her and her partner, Zahur. After her marriage to Ikeno and Mitera had taken place, she knew it would only be a matter of time before they would expect their own cubs. At the announcement of Mitera's pregnancy, she was in utter glee at the thought, helping her wife throughout. Though she was able to help, Kinaya found it too difficult to keep on top of everything, being a healer as well as queen consort. She made the choice for her new family. She had to be there for them, especially the new arrivals. Telling Zakia, they had a rather bittersweet conversation about it all, before the older lion gave a teary hug and assured she could help whenever she wanted to. After years of dreaming of becoming a leading healer, she instead found herself as queen consort. Not long after, Mitera gave birth to two beautiful boys. Uwezo and Upendo, the former becoming Mlima's heir. Ikeno's successor. She couldn't pick out a happier day in her life than seeing the two little cubs there, an immense amount of pride for herself, but mainly Ikeno and Mitera.

Providing herself as carer and teacher for the boys when the others weren't there, it gave Kinaya joy, able to see the boys grow and learn, develop their own personalities day by day. The first time they called her 'mama' she nearly cried she was so happy. cherishing both of them. She knew Uwezo, as young as he was, put a lot of pressure on himself to be a good king, so Kinaya took it upon herself to make sure the cub didn't worry himself too much, feeling like a particular bond was made with her eldest son. It came as no surprise when Kinaya announced her own pregnancy, and when she had the cubs, all four were considered utter blessings to her. Three sons and one daughter. Each of them holding a piece of her heart forever. For a little while, she was inseparable from them, but knew she had to let them explore a little bit. Naturally, she asked for some assistance in keeping an eye on them. over a bit of time, she was able to calm herself enough that she could be less 'clingy' to them, knowing for the most part they would all have some kind of adventurous streak about them. They were cubs, after all!

It wasn't long after the eldest royal cubs reached adolescence that they were going to go to Ustamilivu, celebrating the alliances that had been made between their prides as well as Nguvu. This time of joy eventually resulted in Ikeno, Kinaya and Mitera welcoming more cubs into their family, Mitera giving birth to Binti and Mbali, although sadly the latter didn't survive, and Kinaya having Bahati and Umri, the youngest two, all girls, bringing their family total to twelve of them in total, including the parents!

Personality
Positive: Helpful, Intelligent, Caring, Confident
Neutral: Cheeky, Protective, Hard Working
Negative: Anxious, Scared, Argumentative, Stubborn

Kinaya tries to be of use whenever she is around, this is particularly true when she is helping in the healer's den. No matter where she is, Kinaya will always be trying to look out for others, making sure they are okay. This might even be when they aren't aware she's looking out for them, sometimes leading to her getting too emotionally invested when she tries to protect the ones she holds close, or those who can't protect themselves. She is confident in her abilities and works hard to make sure she improves them further, although sometimes she can be too engrossed in her work to realise she is a bit out of touch with normal things. She does hold a rather sharp, dry sense of humour, though sometimes she uses it at the wrong times, putting her in an awkward spot or two. Kinaya, whilst friendly and outgoing, isn't the bravest of lions, and often worries herself over things more than she should. It isn't uncommon for Kinaya to be making an argument almost for the sake of it, though she is still learning to control herself in that regard.
