Description Indian Pipes... Monotropa uniflora... beautiful native wildflowers and one of my fave ericoid mycoheterotrophs... bring peace to my soul... love these denizens of the woods... flowers in my spirit...

The Indian Pipe plants are cool...
I don't think you can use them as pipes...
but they might inspire...

but the resemblance led doctors to try to use the plant as an opium substitute to relieve pain during the civil war and for surgery... not sure if it really works.
