This is an old shot that I wanted to re-visit. Sadly, it was taken with my old Vivitar camera so the quality is very poor. But I still liked the atmosphere, which means everything to me. I could take a pin sharp photograph but if it doesn't have atmosphere, if it doesn't stir me, it means nothing.Anyhoo...this was what Snape Maltings in Suffolk looked like about ten years ago, before they totally gave it a face lift. It now has shops and a cafe inside. I like the latter, but I miss the wildness and mystery of the former. And I am so glad I took a load of photos before it was renovated.

Did they get rid of all the ivy in the renovation? It would add a nice old-timey quality to anything in the building, especially a cafe.

Yep, every scrap of that lovely ivy has gone. The whole building looks just like new now. It was totally transformed. I was trying to find a NOW shot in Google, with no luck though.
