Ashley in particular is indignant about letting a geth on board, Shepard being all friendly with it... Her own memories of Eden Prime will not let her go of her hate for synthetics easily. She can only hope Shepard knows what he's doing.
Kaidan, while bewildered by this development, is willing to trust Shepard's judgement, and doesn't approve of Ashley's sneaking around.
