First off I want to just say what a beautiful picture this is! What really stood out to me is the background. It's not super detailed or very precise, but its simplicity really gets to me. It really fits the mood and looks so great in this picture! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> Most backgrounds are very detailed, but I like the simplicity a lot.
Second, I love the pose! Even though you can't see the face, and the pose is somewhat simple, it's very well drawn and, well, pretty cute! a.deviantart.net/avatars/r/l/r… " alt=" " title="rlyplz"/>
Truthfully, I don't see very much WRONG with this picture, but if I were you, I'd probably put more shading in. For example, there's a shadow under the fox, but I think some shading would also look good under the tree, as well.
But overall, this picture is really great and very beautiful!

Very nice! I like the feeling of calm this piece exudes, as well as the sense of volume on the tree's leaves. The limited color palette works here too, and I really appreciate the fact that you painted your own grass instead of automatically resorting to the grass brush like I've seen way too many people do (seriously guys, it's not that hard). Understanding that the closest blades of grass are darkest in value is a plus, so bonus points there.
Just a couple things that I feel could use improvement: I wish this was cropped differently, perhaps with a long, cinematic frame, so the sky wouldn't look like such a huge empty space. Some hints of background might help in this regard- maybe a forest filled with trees of varying opacities due to the fog. These alterations might make the composition a bit stronger. Also, the tree bark texture feels a little strange, as the lines are traveling diagonally instead of vertically like they do irl. More shading would help the tree, too: because it's basically a cylinder, it would have a core shadow in the center of the trunk, with lighter shadows extending outward from there. Finally, I wish the fox was positioned on the hill so that her spine curves more, making her look less stiff. She kinda looked like a stick in the thumbnail. I also might suggest showing more of the fox, like the tip of her snout, f'rinstance, just to show more volume and break the symmetry.
Other than that, you're off to a fantastic start! Keep it up!!
