Very nice shot. I went bird shooting a few months ago for the first time. It was a lot more difficult than I thought.

Thank you! Yes it is difficult, I try and practice often, I warm up on moving birds before going out on an action shoot.

Thank you and same to you.
Went to Manhattan to see David Sanborn, he's a Saxaphone player whom I admire. Had a great evening at the Blue Note.

I've been real busy of late and have neglected this site. Planning a big move to Florida, packing up. New adventure await.

WOW! florida? That is very different for you? New indeed. Well I hope to hear from you now and then. I too have been signing on less and less, but due to creative reasons.
The very best to you and your new adventure.

I will try to keep you posted. It's a big move, 1500 or so miles, so we can't just bring a few boxes here and there. We will have to plan this, right down to moving my two Harleys.

I'll say it's a big move! best of luck on your move, and new place.

Thank you so much my friend. that is what happens to backgrounds when panning.

I'm assuming that means that you move the camera slightly when clicking? Ha ha something I do every time I take a picture! It's really a great effect!

You follow your subject using a slower speed around 30th of a second, and follow you subject, which is called panning, then click the shutter, without stopping, keeping with the same speed as your subject is important, this takes a little practice, having a continuos tracking focus can help as well as a stabilization lens if your using long lenses, If not, putting your camera on a tripod would work better, unless you have many hours of practice. It gives beautiful background effects, also can make the subject look like they are moving at great speed.

I bet it does take some practice but you've sure got it down! Photography is something I've always wanted to try to get into but just haven't done as yet. I always think they'll be time but as the years go by I'm realizing the time is running out!!!

You should photograph with me some time, at Balboa lake, and give it a try. it is a great training ground, with much to photograph. It is where I go to keep in practice. I will let you know when the Cherry Blossoms bloom, also when the Pelicans arrive. Hope they made it through the rough winter. Some times I feel the same way, especially being a Grandmother. Or rather Gam Gam is what my 2 year old grand son calls me . But I will suck out every bit of happiness I can possible get. As you get older, you do not want to miss much. It sure does feel like life goes faster the older you get.
