Kinda freaky... this painting makes me feel all shizophrenic... like the walls are freaking out, turning all sorts of colors, and talking to me.

wow. i loe the craziness going on in the back, but the way you've made the foreground fit in with that is absolutely amazing. i love the strokes too, really adds some character to th epiece. gorgeous work!!

The markings in the background are very tribal (real tribal, not the weird tattoo trend), they remind me of rock glyphs or Australian aboriginal paintings, especially the bark paintings. Your use of color is very subtle here, the light seems to bend around the figure some, either that or it is eminating from him. The shift from dark and cool in the lower left corner to warm and bright at the top gives the whole thing a sort of exploding motion. That figure is very expressive; meditative, open/recieving, elevated.
