Haha, I'm sorry! And yeah, that's the subtitle I imagined for the strip: "The strip you wish you didn't relate to." xD

Wow. For some reason, I missed this one. I don't think it showed up on my messages.
I read it because I didn't recognize it, and I'm on my knees.
This is the first of your comics that actually gave me a PHYSICAL reaction. My throat closed up, I was so touched.
All-time favorite.

These strips are at their best (imho) when they are very depressing, yet still seem realistic to the reader. This is a good one.
Although, for me the first and last panels seem both true at the same time. /lol

Noes! I don't do anything to him! We don't live in the same dimension, I can't reach him at all.

How do you know your dimension doesn't affect him?

Noes! You're asking the glass-maker if this or that curve on the glass happened because he got up from the left side of the bed!

If he got up on the right side, he would have fallen down the stairs located on the side of his bed, broken his back, and wouldn't have been able to make the curve on the glass.

Exactly! So anything could happen, especially things that could make him not blow the glass. So our dimension does affect others!
In some way.

But the glass-maker lives in the same dimension as the glass. I'm not responsible for what happens to Mr. Everyman because I don't live in his dimension. If I did, I'd become an agent in his world, and a character (even as an author), but I am not. I don't belong to his diegesis!!!

Yet if you stopped the L.O.V.E. comics (God forbid), his dimension would cease to exist, no?

Indeed, it is because I am the creator that I can't be any part of the strip's world itself. That's why I say we're on different dimensions and can't interact.

I am, hence creator. But me creating this or that event in Mr. Everyman's life doesn't make me exist in his dimension. If I showed up, Mr. Everyman would become just a strip character.

Yet, if you created the universe, controlling it, aren't you part of it? It's like saying God doesn't play a part in our universe.

That's the difference between God and me: I'm not part of the universe I create, He is. Because what I create is fiction, what He creates is reality.
This is an interesting conversation, and I am aware that what I'm saying isn't usual. In fact, I had never even thought of it that way before I started telling you about it.
What I'm trying to say, I think, is that if I were to be considered as an agent of anything within the universe of the strip (the diegesis), things would fall apart. Just as when the playwright comes upon the stage in the middle of the play, the play is over. (That's paraphrased from CS Lewis - in his example, he says that if God came up on the stage during the play, the play would be over just as soon.)
That's why I'm not being cruel to Mr. Everyman; to be so, I'd have to be part of his world, and I'm not! If I were, I'd feel bad for doing things to him, but I'm not doing anything to him! We live in totally different dimensions, we're not equal. Something like that.
I hope this sheds some light on what I'm trying to say!

That'd be fun. I always fantasise about making a really religious strip, just to tease people.
