Description
It has been a while since i last made anything with a pony in it.This is a sort of what-if image for had sunset shimmer made it back to equestria.
This was quite fun to make since this is a full painting style instead of my usual lineart.

Luck: It's just amazing, isn't it? At their respective births, Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle had the same luck, they were both born with the same capabilities, thirst for knowledge and magic potential. Yet they ended up in two completely opposite paths.
Fate: Indeed. They are both living proof that regardless of what lot in life a pony might have had, it is their personal choices that led them into their current destiny.

Even assuming that she could beat Celestia and Luna (actual power levels aside, they are still quite powerful), she'd still have Discord to contend with.

What if she turned her army of teens into demons too,then they would probably(with the element of surprise ) be a significant threat .PLus I think she would have been able to take the royal sister on at least initially , it's a lot more interesting to wonder whether she could actually do it or if she was partially insane but still quite cunning

I thought she was a badass villain, even if the whole "army of teenagers" thing was a bit ridiculous. She was certainly pretty powerful, but vs. two demigods? Yeah, no contest there.

I've watched that part. many, many, MANY times. I find it strangely addicting.

Sunset Shimmer is no match for Celestia and Luna, she will not even win in 1 vs 1 duel.
First off, Twilight and her friends had to use all 6 elements together to unleash their power, and Sunset inficted her transformation while having only crown, not to mention that Twilight was element bearers for years while Sunset Shimmer stolen the crown for several days or weeks in human world.
Twilight become alicorn after passing a lot of trials, Sunset Shimmer indicted her transformation for no reason ( the whole plot that one element of harmony used by random foe can turn into weapon of mass destruction was rushed ).
And the whole idea " I will hypnotise hundred of teenagers and use them to take over Equestria is the most stupid take over the world plot I ever hear, like a group of slowly walking zombies would be able to defeat even two royal guards who can cast powerful spells or break rocks with their bare hooves.
Sorry to say it, but as much as concept of Sunset Shimmer as rebellious student of Celestia was good, the execution and plot were bad, I just can not threat her seriously as a villain, for me she is just random unicorn with big magical potential, nothing more, even Trixie with alicorn amulet is far more dangerous.

I agree. even with the story holes if she made it back to equestria she would only be a newborn alicorn at most. Not nearly enough to be any threat to two experienced alicorns.
