I prefer to draw strips like these because it breaks away from the blockiness of usual webcomic formats. I'm obviously not the only one to ever do this, mind you.

The only reason I don't do it more often is it's horribly time consuming. The most cumbersome part was the very first panel. I wanted to create a visualization of the girls' apartment I could use again, with different daytime lightings, for a quick location shot. Plus, it adds a bit of depth to their world.

I imagine that's Quinn's car in the parking lot, since it's purple. Quinn's room, clothes, and various other accessories tend to be shades of purple when I need to reference something belongs to her instead of Ellie.

If not purple, usually warming tones, like her living room she decorated, or her robe. The inviting colors work opposite her personality, which I like.
