Wait a moment: I am not the only one with this kind of idea for a character? I had been toying and teasing with explanations for one of my characters in D&D for damage rulings with twin shields as a self-taught proficiency. Also been debating on making the character mostly defensive, using a shield on the back for extra protection and a spare shield to use.
