Name: Roronoa Zara
Series: One Piece
Background: Sorry for being so late today. I didn’t forget; I’ve just been busy with holiday things and work.
Another small, short-lived character. In fact, her name is something I just cobbled together for something to label my work file with, because back in the day, I never settled on a name for her. I just couldn’t come up with anything I liked, but I do know I had toyed with naming her “Takara” for the Japanese word for “treasure”, cause One Piece is a pirate anime and at the time, that just made sense.
I think one reason I never did much with her was because when I got into One Piece, it was when 4Kids still had the dub, so things were all over the place with that. I was also pretty young, so buying the manga on a regular basis wasn’t a thing and that was still the transition period (I think?) between dial up internet and what we have now, so reading scanlations and all was also not a thing I did on the regular.

That and, as with most TV shows, I’m terrible at actually tuning in week to week to see a new episode, so I would miss quite a few chunks when 4Kids was airing it on TV. To be honest, I’m still behind even now and with how many chapters they have and the rate they’re going, who knows if I’ll ever be able to catch up, hahaha.
For a little info, at least for the present-day version of this character, Zara’s pretty tomboyish and impulsive and tends to get into trouble. She has throwing knives for protection, but she could use a lot more practice with them if she wants to survive the crazy world that is One Piece.
