Description
A while ago I took part in Gemsona Week 2015 and here's my Gemsona, Prehnite. He's more of a fan character, cause I assure you that doesn't look anything like me and I wish I was as calm and collected as he was ><The basic run down for him was he was a high ranking officer of the Homeworld Forces, before a traumatic event caused him to defect and go into hiding till after the war. He then took up a lifestyle of a traveling monk, keeping out of the way to just observe the state of the planet they had tried to conquer. His weapon currently take the form of boading balls that he can control telepathically, as well as alter their size as will. He's not much of a fighter anymore though and uses them mainly for meditation. He doesn't walk much, as he has the ability to float/hover. He was once a cold-hearted, calculating Gem, but now is gentle, yet distant due to his past.

That is curious as to why there are no male gems besides Steven. I wonder if they explain this in the show.

As far as I can tell, Gems can choose their shape, and most of them just choose to be female with female pronouns. On their planet, they probably never had gender standards in their culture, and so just never took a 'male' form. For Steven, I think he's a boy because he is both human and gem. At least that's what I believe.

Well I know why Steven is a boy and I know what the creator of the cartoon says, but with the LGBT undertones, I know it is not what she says. I do believe the Gems are female and we do have yet to see more of the home world. I do at least. I need to catch up. Who knows they might so it later.

Usually when the creator of a show states that gems have no gender, it means their not female. A Gems true form is their actual gem. Last I remember, rocks, even sentient ones, are neither male or female.

Oh boy. Look I'm not going to argue the point with you. Everyone else can see therefore the controversy with the show. If you want to stay oblivious to it fine or just ignore it then fine, but do some research about the show and look at what many many viewers are saying about it. You'll see then. People are boycotting the show for a reason. Not me really, I just need to catch up with the show. I hear it's starting to get really good and that they're starting to reveal some stuff about Peridot.

Ah, I don't think Rebecca Sugar is being honest with what she is doing with the show, but it's whatever. People are oblivious to it. And I already did watch the episode even though I'm not up to that point. That was unexpected. I thought Peridot was originally like that. I wonder if Jasper knows about it.

It's funny how we're both arguing about Steven Universe, despite both of us like watching it...is this irony?
It's obvious that we won't agree on each other's views, but instead of fighting, we should instead embrace on how much we like SU!

Well to be honest, Peridot wasn't really much of a threat. It seemed like once Jasper was out of the picture, that Peridot's intimidation went south. And yeah, it is ironic that we are having a debate about the show and we both like it. I don't know if Peridot will join. Maybe....It really depends on what happens when Jasper gets out. You know the fusion between Lapis and her can't last for too much longer. Hell is going to break loose when she gets out.
